Musabaev Erkin Isakovich, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, since 2004 he has been the Director of the Research Institute of Virology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Chief infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, head of the department of "Infectious diseases" of the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Medical Studies.
Musabaev E.I. received the academic degree of candidate of medical sciences in 1983, doctor of medical sciences in 1990 at the Research Institute of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health of the USSR.
From 1990-1995 he was a research fellow and deputy director for research at the Research Institute of Epidemiology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
From 1995-1996 was the chief physician of the Tashkent City Infectious Diseases Hospital.
From 2000 to the present, he has been the head of the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Medical Studies.
The main areas of scientific activity are the study of molecular epidemiology, features of pathogenesis and treatment of viral hepatitis, viral diarrhea, and other significant infectious diseases in Uzbekistan. He is the coordinator of several national and international scientific studies, training programs focused on the molecular genetic aspects and treatment of HIV and viral hepatitis.
He has more than 200 scientific papers, including 5 monographs. Supervisor and consultant of 4 doctoral and 14 candidate dissertations.
