In most laboratories, the initial evaluation is performed by cytotechnologists.

A cytologist performs a secondary evaluation and determines whether the sample is normal or abnormal.

A training seminar for doctor cytologists and doctor laboratory assistants was held at Research Institute of Virology within the framework of the project "Improving the possibilities of detection of human papilloma virus and diagnosis of cervical cancer among women in the regions of the republic (Tashkent city, Andijan and Samarkand regions).

Currently, 1-month training seminars for cytotechnologists (nurses) have started.

The trainings are carried out together with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Committee for Sanitary-Epidemiological Peace and Public Health and the Research Institute of Virology, the KOFIH Foundation of South Korea, the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Green Cross Laboratories specialists and medical staff.
