Familiarization with international experience in the elimination of viral hepatitis C and determining the possibility of its implementation in Uzbekistan

A round table on hepatitis prevention work in the country and its prospects was held in the conference hall of the Hyatt Ridgensi Hotel in Tashkent on 7-8 October 2019. It was attended by representatives of relevant government and international organizations, scientists, doctors, specialists and journalists.
According to the event, the incidence of viral hepatitis B and C is increasing worldwide. It is known that if hepatitis B is not detected and treated in a timely manner, it can cause cirrhosis of the liver and hepatocellular carcinoma, that is, liver cancer.
Although effective drugs for the treatment of patients with viral hepatitis C have been introduced into practice, it is unlikely that people around the world will benefit from the high cost of treatment. In addition, there is a limited opportunity for liver transplantation, which is a unique and modern medical practice worldwide. Under these conditions, the most effective and efficient way is to prevent hepatitis, develop preventive work in this area and provide systemic health care for all segments of the population.
Implementation of important tasks in this area is defined as a priority area in medicine in our country. According to the national vaccination calendar, children are regularly vaccinated against hepatitis B. Patients with hepatitis C are treated with modern medications.
At the same time, in the context of constantly growing tourism and international relations, the most important task of today is to further improve medical and social measures in this area, raise awareness and vigilance, prevent the spread and spread of viral diseases in our country.
In order to solve these and other issues in Uzbekistan, to protect public health and prevent hepatitis, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Virology and other international organizations, prevention of viral hepatitis B and C is carried out for 2019-2020. a special project was developed.
During the press conference, the participants were told about the activities of medical institutions in the capital. The project will be implemented in several stages. First, a project working group will be formed, after which a family clinic participating in the project will be selected. A medical consultation center will be created with the participation of scientists and qualified specialists from the Research Institute of Virology, which will conduct training seminars for participants.

A special order of the Minister of Health was adopted to systematically organize the tasks set within the framework of the project, which sets out the main tasks that need to be completed.
 At the press conference, it was noted that 1.02 million US dollars will be invested in the medicine of Uzbekistan for the effective organization of screening for hepatitis B and C in the early stages of the disease. US Dollars
The event will provide detailed information on the current state of hepatological services in Uzbekistan, the results of medical, preventive and therapeutic work carried out in this area, and the expected results of a new project developed by government and international organizations.
