VII resuscitation department of the clinic of the Research Institute of Virology

The intensive care unit was created to provide a set of resuscitation measures to patients admitted from hospital departments and emergency rooms with acutely developed dysfunctions of vital organs until their activity is stabilized, and to conduct a course of intensive therapy for patients with various acute (or exacerbations of chronic) severe organ or systemic disorders.

The intensive care unit, in accordance with the tasks assigned to it, performs the following functions:

1. Provision of specialized, including high-tech medical care to patients with dysfunctions of vital body functions due to acute viral diseases, decompensation of chronic diseases.
2. Conducting a set of resuscitation measures in patients in a state of clinical death.
3. For the purpose of diagnosing liver cirrhosis of viral etiology, a liver biopsy is performed.
4. For diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, patients with liver cirrhosis undergo paracentesis and thoracocentesis.
5. Subclavian and jugular catheterization is performed.
6. Artificial ventilation is performed on patients in critical conditions.
7. Providing advisory assistance to doctors of other hospital departments on issues of providing resuscitation care for critical conditions.
8. Improving the professional qualifications of ICU medical personnel on issues of specialized and high-tech medical care.

The resuscitation department is equipped with the most modern and high-tech equipment for monitoring and restoring vital functions of the body.

Resuscitation doctors are on duty in the department around the clock.
