Free screening tests for cervical cancer were conducted in Tashkent city and Andijan region, and five family policlinics in Samarkand Region have launched free screening processes for cervical cancer as well.
The main cause of cervical cancer (98-99 per cent) is the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is considered the only cancer that can be avoided.
Cervical cancer is asymptomatic and can only be detected by perforation. If the disease is detected at an early stage, the necessary time for treatment will be sufficient. In turn, the morbidity and mortality rates are reduced.
The disease can only be beaten by regular check-ups, early diagnosis and treatment measures.
