Intestinal infections are one of the most common diseases in the world and remain an important public health problem due to high morbidity, development of severe forms, complications and high mortality. To date, the etiological structure of acute diarrheal diseases has changed significantly - diarrhea caused by viruses dominate. Human caliciviruses are the second most important causative agents of acute gastroenteritis in children after rotaviruses. One of the most powerful zoonotic pathogens that causes mild diarrhea and leads to hemolytic uremic syndrome or death of Escherichia coli O157: H7 (E. coli O157: H7). Unfortunately, these infections are not diagnosed in our country. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct in-depth scientific research on the study of diseases of food and water origin.

Department tasks:

1. Study of the prevalence, clinical picture, diagnosis of human caliciviruses in the structure of diarrheal diseases in Uzbekistan.
2. Study of the prevalence, clinical picture, diagnosis of Escherichia coli O157: H7 in the structure of diarrheal diseases in Uzbekistan.
