Purpose of visit: to discuss the project "Impact assessment of pandemic COVID-19 on viral hepatitis B and C elimination efforts in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (hepatitis COVIMPACT)".
The training covered in-depth research goals, theoretical framework of the project, research questions and research methods, principles of using qualitative methods of information collection, reflexivity, types of data, features and best practices, preparation for key informant interviews, informational consent and logging, ethical discussion of questions asked.
The delegation visited the Olmazar District Medical Association to see the experience of screening the population for viral hepatitis B and C. During the visit, the delegation was shown the stages of screening.
Then, the delegation visited the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Hematology and Blood Transfusion where they were familiarized with the stages of blood donation, detectability of viral hepatitis in primary donors.
Also, the delegation visited the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Servicer representatives of the delegation shared information on the analytical review of publications and publicly available documents on the screening program in Uzbekistan. During the meeting, they discussed the provision of recommendations on actions to control and eliminate viral hepatitis in Uzbekistan.
