On September 28, 2022, the European and Regional Offices of the World Health Organization held a Meeting of donor organizations on laboratory activities

Representatives of the Sanitary Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center attended the meeting for Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, the Research Institute of Virology, the Republican AIDS Center and the Center for Prevention of Quarantine and Serious Diseases.

Donor organizations: World Health Organization, CDC, KOICA, KFW, World Bank, ADB Bank, GIZ.

The meeting was opened by B.K. Yusupaliev, head of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The issues discussed were: WHO support to strengthen the laboratory sector in Uzbekistan.  Work of donor organizations in the laboratory sector of Uzbekistan in a round table format. Coordination of activities on development and sustainability of national laboratory capacity.

On the part of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, information was given on the ongoing and planned projects with the assistance of international organizations. The results of the national mentoring program for the implementation of the quality management system in Uzbekistan were presented.
